How to act out Awkward Moments

Embarrassing everyday slips at work, on video calls, in shops and with strangers: the moments everyone recognises and nobody enjoys. Teenagers and adults get the most out of it, and it tends to get a party laughing at itself.

1. Set the scene with a quick mime of the place first, then let the awkward moment happen.
2. The reaction is what sells it: freeze, glance around the room and let the cringe show on your face.
3. Play it as a tiny story with a before and an after rather than a single frozen pose.
